A lot of people get into this business because they see it as a great opportunity to make a Lot of money with little investment.
And they are right. It is…
Then a lot of us quickly go through our warm market and wonder where else to look for people to join our business.
Thousands of people join this business every day! Why can’t we find them?
One great way to expand your sphere of influence is to go online and start building relationships there. There are a lot of different methods to attract people to your business and they all work.
The problem for a lot of us though is that we jump from strategy to strategy trying to find the best one, or worse…
…we try them all at once!
You can’t become successful at something if you don’t give it a shot and you definitely wont have much success if you spread yourself too thin.
Trust me, I know. I’ve done it.
I’ve tried new shiny things, everything at once and everything in between. And I’ve almost quit in the process.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t do it at all. It’s probably the best way to Attract people to you and your business. But it can take some time and might have a steep learning curve for many.
So recently I made a commitment to show my business to an average of 3 people every day.
I figured cold calling was the quickest way to get people to look at a presentation that I could email them or send a CD and then follow up later.
I decided to call Realtors because they pretty much do the same thing. They are used to creating new relationships with people and selling their services. I used to do it, so I thought it would be easy.
I was still scared shitless to pick up the phone and call. That’s why I limited myself to an hour at a time. That way it doesn’t seem too daunting at first.
I also had no idea what to say. So I finally went and got Todd Flacone’s Little Black Book of Scripts to help myself out. Go ahead and get a free copy of his best script there.
He gives you tips on how to be more confident while your on the phone plus he gives you scripts on exactly what to say. There’s a script for several situations and people in different professions.
Here’s a little part of a script I’m using with Realtors:
“…I personally like to talent scout Top Notch sales proffessionals for my business and I have a very simple question for you.
Do you keep your options open at all in terms of earning income outside of what you’re currently doing in real estate?”
Knowing what to say and how to handle any curve balls makes it a lot less stressful to call people out of the blue. A lot of people will still say no. Some might even get mad. But it’s really cool when you get someone that actually sounds excited to see what you have to send them.
So if you’re ready to start taking some simple consistent daily actions that will get people in front of your presentation. I have found nothing better than a telephone and Todd Flacone’s Little Black Book of Scripts.
